| Photo courtesy of Monsters and Critics.com (Modeling Rock & Republic, New York Fashion Week February 2008) | As fall slowly approaches, we fashionistas just can’t seem to halt our dire need to catch a glimpse of what’s in store for us in the upcoming seasons, Spring 2009 in particular. Spring is a girl’s favourite season, where she is able to implement bright colors and pastels in to her ensembles and make them pop! New York Fashion Week, also known as Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week, is one of the most anticipated shows of the year, and although us Vancouverites won’t all get the opportunity to be a part of the glitz and glamour that is NY Fashion week, we (at Goodie Bag) will do our very, very best to keep our fellow fashion fanatics in the loop on the must-have trends and fabulous runway designs that will be prevalent at New York’s Bryant Park starting September 5th through to the 12th.
Last February, celebrities like our much-loved on-screen bad girl Sophia Bush, Anne Hathaway (I guess the Devil Wears Prada got her hooked!) and of course celebrity style icon Mrs. Victoria Beckham, swarmed the venue. This year, we can expect the same: massive tents, bright lights, gorgeous models and mood setting music. Fashion week attendees will have the opportunity to see Spring lines from Phillip Lim, whose lovely pastels and use of bright tangerine orange in his Resort 2008 collection did not seize to amaze us! As well, designs from Betsey Johnson, Vera Wang, Anna Sui and Michael Kors (among many, many others) will also grace the runways of NY in the upcoming month.
Fortunately, for us, post-New York fashion week, we’ll be getting the scoop on the new designs and we’ll be able to think ahead and get our wardrobes ready for the upcoming Spring. Keep checking back with Goodie Bag on updates on fashion week including pictures and information on the hot designs (hot. we assume, but really, what less can we expect from the always fabulous Phillip Lim and the ultra chic Diane Von Furstenburg?).
Unfortunately, NY fashion week is invitation-only but I’m sure Paris and Nicky Hilton will get us in, V.I.P…right!

 August is awesome. It's a favorite month around here as tank tops and summer colours are well in swing, but minds start to turn to wearing fall shades and stylish knits on crisp mornings.
